Re-STORY-ing Hope: Autoethnography and Mothering a Child with Asperger's Syndrome at 11 AM
A mother of a child with Asperger's syndrome often faces judgment, lack of support and confusion. Her experience of parenting is unique, she is an advocate, presonsible for much and is living her life in a different direction than she had planned. This autoethnographic study addresses a gap in the literature regarding the lived experience of this mother, what is meaningful to her, her challenges and strengths. I am that mother. Could this evolve into a bigger picture where such individual learning might create change on a societal level?
